Time is not fair when you are out of home and your computers at home contact you to let you know that your medicines have expired or that the milk is over or you need more sugar and teabags. This is not a fantasy but soon it will a reality due to the amazing possibilities of the Internet of Things.
Internet of things is involving day-to-day objects with machine-readable identification tags. Sensors may involve several tags to collect more information about the condition the everyday objects and those present around them. Same applies to various organisation where the computers keeps tracking stocks available and resources and maintain them to optimum level, hence saving a lot of time and money.
Before we elaborate the impact internet of thingsin our daily activities, it’s important to go through its advantages and disadvantages:
Data: The more the information is available , the easier it will be to make the right decision, this will not only saves time but is convenient as well.
Tracking: computers keep a track both on the quality and the worthy of things at home and also at office. Knowing the expiration date of products purchased before one consumes them improves quality of life.
Time: The amount of time saved in monitoring and the number of trips done .
Disadvantages
Here are some disadvantages of IoT:
1. Compatibility: As of now, there is no standard for tagging and monitoring with sensors.
2. Complexity: There are several opportunities for failure with complex systems.
3. Privacy/Security: Privacy is a big issue with IoT.
